How To Avoid Heart Attacks and Strokes
By Robert T. Bailey, PharmD, MD
Heart attacks and strokes absolutely can and should be avoided. But the practice of medicine is slow to change and adopt new ideas and concepts. Practicing the status quo is always easier. Heart attacks and strokes are the number one and number two cause of mortality and morbidity in the United States.
Sadly, there is so much more money to be made by the medical industrial complex in treating rather than preventing these two ever so common diseases which snuffs out lives often prematurely or leaves patients often as cardiac cripples or with significant permanent neurological deficits who are dependent on full time care givers around the clock.
Heart attack, stroke and diabetes remain the primary drivers of healthcare costs, disability and death for both men and women in the United States. Every 20-30 seconds, someone in the US has a heart attack or stroke. In fact, in one year more than 2 million Americans will have heart attacks or strokes and more than 40% or 800,000 will die these preventable events. Contrast that to about 380,000 Americans that died of COVID in 2020.
Current strategies of addressing the burden of cardiovascular disease have stalled out at 30% reduction in morbidity and mortality over the past 20 years. A new paradigm is needed to address the residual majority of patients who will go on to experience major adverse cardiovascular events.
The BaleDoneen Method provides an evidence-based approach to the prevention of heart attacks and strokes and diabetes which also reduces all cancers by 50% and the burden of dementia and renal dialysis. Unlike the standard of care which emphasizes arterial flow obstruction or arterial luminal narrowing, the BaleDoneen Method searches for the presence and characterization of plaque and presence and degree of arterial inflammation. These root causes of arterial inflammation and oxidative stress are not usually addressed in the standard of care, thus plaque is allowed to grow and advance and can result in plaque rupture or tearing causing serious and deadly cardiovascular events. Uncovering insulin resistance, prediabetes and diabetes is critical as these conditions are extremely common in the US and cause 70% of all heart attacks and strokes.
The BaleDoneen Method does not simply treat flow obstruction, but rather addresses the pathogenesis of the disease and its many root causes, and thus has the ability to both arrest and reverse the disease eliminating heart attacks and ischemic strokes and stabilizing microvascular disease. Microvascular disease is “silent” but unfortunately over time damages and destroys our end organs such as brain, heart, kidneys, lungs and intestines.
Don’t be a statistic, but rather seek out a physician who practices the BaleDoneen Method to not only avoid a heart attack and stroke, and restore health to your arteries, probably the most important organ system in the human body.
